# Competitors

> Your domain against up to 10 competitors: share of voice, organic keywords, traffic, backlinks and domain rank, plus each competitor's top pages, refreshed every two weeks.

## Overview

**SEO Suite → Competitors** (`/seo/competitors`) shows who takes the clicks on the search results you track and the pages they do it with. Two kinds of data meet here: your own keyword position checks (visibility, share of voice, position distribution) and a comparison snapshot of each domain's organic footprint and links.

<Note>
  Included from **Pro**.
</Note>

## Where competitors come from

The page compares your site with the competitor domains on file for it, up to **10 per site**. They come from two lists, merged and de-duplicated:

1. The SEO competitor list, managed on **Keywords → Competitor keywords** (`/keywords/competitors`).
2. The competitor list from your AI Search setup, which is included automatically.

You can also add a domain straight from the **Discovered competitors** card on this page. The **Add** button on that card stops at five domains; take the list up to 10 on the Competitor keywords page. Adding a domain also queues a pull of the keywords it ranks for.

### Competitor suggestions

On the Competitor keywords page, **Suggest from Google** looks up who ranks for your own non-brand keywords and who shares your search results, then drops the giant platforms (Wikipedia, YouTube, Reddit, Amazon and the like) and sites named after your own brand. Up to 15 suggestions come back; add the ones you lose searches to.

## The page

Pick a date range at the top right: **Last 30 days**, **Last 90 days** or **Last 180 days**. It applies to the two charts.

| Card | What it shows |
| - | - |
| **Visibility index** | The share of clicks your tracked keywords could send each domain, by position and search volume, as one line per domain over the range. |
| **Position distribution** | Your tracked keywords per position band on each check. Movement from 11 to 20 into 4 to 10 is where traffic starts. |
| **Share of voice** | Every domain in the organic top ten of your tracked keywords on the latest check: Share of voice, Visibility, In top 10, Avg position and the 7d change. Shares sum to 100. |
| **You vs competitors** | The comparison table, one row per domain with you on top. |
| **Discovered competitors** | Domains that appear most often in your top tens and are not listed yet, with In top 10, Avg pos. and Share. |
| **SERP features** | Who owns each feature block (People also ask, videos and so on) on your tracked keywords. A block someone else owns sits above your result. |
| **Their pages** | Each competitor's top 100 pages by estimated organic traffic. |

Hover a column heading for its definition. Every table can be searched, sorted and exported as CSV.

## The comparison table

| Column | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Share of voice** | This domain's slice of the organic top ten across your tracked keywords, by position and volume. |
| **Organic kw** | Keywords the domain ranks for in Google's top 100, from the comparison snapshot. |
| **Traffic** | Estimated organic visits per month, from the comparison snapshot. |
| **Rank** | Domain rank on a 0 to 100 scale. |
| **Backlinks** | Total links to the domain. |
| **Missing kw** | Keywords this competitor ranks for on page one or two that you do not. Filled by the competitor keywords pull. |
| **Shared** | Tracked keywords where you and this competitor both rank on page one. |

The export also carries referring domains and the snapshot date. Each competitor row has two shortcuts: every keyword the domain ranks for (opens Competitor keywords filtered to it) and its top pages (scrolls to **Their pages**).

## Competitor pages

**Their pages** lists a competitor's top 100 pages by estimated monthly organic traffic with the number of keywords each page ranks for and the date Sight first saw it. Pick the competitor from the dropdown. A page first seen on the latest refresh carries a **new** badge, and the **New since last refresh** filter isolates them: a new page is a topic the competitor just invested in. Pages that drop out of the top 100 leave the list.

## Refresh and schedule

The comparison snapshot comes from a domain overview per domain (organic keywords, traffic, top 3 and top 10 counts) and bulk link lookups (domain rank, backlinks, referring domains), stored per day.

* **Every two weeks.** The Monday 04:00 UTC run refreshes the comparison and each competitor's pages for Pro and Business sites, every two weeks per site. A site nobody has opened an SEO page for in 30 days sits it out.
* **New sites.** When a site is added with competitors already on file, the first comparison is pulled as part of the site's first SEO snapshot.
* **On demand.** **Refresh** pulls a fresh comparison straight away and queues the pages pull in the background; pages appear within a minute or two. The pages pull can run again once the last one is older than **6 hours on Pro** or **2 hours on Business**.

The stamp next to the button shows the last rank check and the last comparison. Visibility, share of voice, position distribution and discovered competitors update with every keyword position check on your plan's cadence; they need at least one check with a stored top ten.

    The snapshot has not run for it yet. Click Refresh to pull the comparison now; the next scheduled run would fill it within two weeks.

  <Accordion title="Why is Missing kw blank?">
    It is filled by the competitor keywords pull, which starts when a competitor is added on the Competitor keywords page or from the Discovered list. Until that pull has run the column shows nothing rather than zero.
