What Are Mentions?
Mentions track the number of times your brand appears in AI-generated responses. When users ask AI models questions related to your industry, products, or services, the AI may mention your brand by name, reference your website, or recommend your products.
The Mentions tab gives you a bird's-eye view of your brand's visibility across all major AI platforms in one dashboard.
Why Mentions Matter
Brand mentions in AI responses are increasingly important because:
- AI is becoming a primary discovery channel – Users ask ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity for recommendations instead of searching Google
- Mentions drive awareness – Every AI mention introduces your brand to potential customers
- Mentions indicate authority – AI models mention brands they consider relevant and trustworthy
- Competitive advantage – If competitors are being mentioned and you're not, you're losing visibility
AI Platforms We Track
Sight AI monitors your brand mentions across the major AI platforms:

- Claude (Anthropic) – Known for thoughtful, nuanced responses
- Perplexity – AI-powered search engine with citations
- Gemini (Google) – Google's multimodal AI assistant
- Grok (xAI) – X/Twitter's conversational AI
- Google AI Overview – AI summaries in Google search results

Platform Cards
Each AI platform has its own card showing:
- Mention count – Total times your brand was mentioned
- Trend indicator – Whether mentions are increasing or decreasing
- Visibility percentage – What percentage of relevant prompts include your brand
Prompt Type Filter
Filter your mention data by prompt type:
- Non-Branded Prompts – Generic industry questions (e.g., "best CRM software") - most valuable for measuring organic visibility
- Branded Prompts – Questions that include your brand name (e.g., "what is [YourBrand]?")
- All Prompts – Combined view of both types
Pro tip: Focus on non-branded prompts to understand how visible you are when users aren't specifically asking about you.
Date Range
Use the date range selector to view mentions over different time periods:
- 7 days – Recent snapshot
- 30 days – Monthly view
- 90 days – Quarterly trends
