Overview

You can change your Sight AI plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately and you only pay the prorated difference. Downgrades are scheduled for the end of your current billing period, so you keep everything you paid for until then. “Upgrade” means moving to a plan with a higher price: Starter to Pro, Pro to Business, a bigger credit size inside Pro or Business, or monthly to annual billing. Anything that lowers the price is a downgrade.

How to Upgrade

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.
  2. Click Change Plan.
  3. Pick the plan, credit size and billing interval.
  4. Review the summary of what changes.
  5. Click Confirm.

Billing

  • Immediate access — the new plan’s modules, sites, seats and pools are available right away.
  • Prorated charge — Stripe charges only the difference between your current plan and the new one for the remainder of the billing period.

Credits When You Upgrade

Your credits follow the same prorated rule as the charge. For the rest of the current period you receive the difference between the two monthly grants, multiplied by the share of the period that is left. At the start of the next period you get the new plan’s full grant. Credits you already used this period stay used. Bonus and purchased credits are not affected.

What Changes When You Upgrade

  • Modules — moving from Starter to Pro opens Google AI Mode and AI Overviews tracking, advanced research, competitor insights, the SEO suite (site audit, backlinks, content health, reports), automations, agent connectors and the REST API; moving to Business opens outreach, the Linear integration, historical data, forecasts, alerts, link building prospects and index coverage. The matching MCP tools appear in your MCP client on its next tool list.
  • Pools — more tracked keywords and outreach contacts, and no cap on tracked AI prompts above Starter.
  • Sites and seats — the plan’s included sites and seats apply immediately; extra site and seat add-ons stay on your subscription.
  • White-label reports — Business only.

Downgrading

How to Downgrade

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.
  2. Click Change Plan.
  3. Select the lower plan or credit size.
  4. Review the Before you switch list of what the lower plan cannot hold.
  5. Click Confirm.

Timing

Downgrades are scheduled, not immediate. You keep your current plan until the end of your billing period. The new plan takes effect on your next billing date. Annual to monthly switches are scheduled for the end of the year you paid for.

Before You Switch

The confirmation lists what will change at the switch, so there are no surprises:
  • Sites — if you have more licensed sites than the new plan includes, the newest sites over the allowance are deactivated at the switch unless you keep them as extra site licenses.
  • Seats — invitations stay blocked while you are over the seat allowance; nobody is removed automatically.
  • Tracked AI prompts — only when moving to Starter: the oldest prompts over its pool of 100 are paused.
  • Tracked keywords — the newest keywords over the new pool stop position tracking, and the check cadence follows the new plan (weekly on Starter, every three days on Pro and Business).
  • Modules — moving to Pro closes outreach and the Business SEO features; moving to Starter also closes the SEO suite, automations, agent connectors and the API. Scheduled automations stop at the switch.
  • Credits — your monthly grant becomes the new plan’s grant from the next period. Credits you already received for the current period stay.

Data Retention

Your data is not deleted when you downgrade. Articles, AI visibility history, keyword history, backlinks and integrations remain. Only active limits and module access change.

Changing Your Billing Interval

  • Monthly to annual is an upgrade: it applies immediately, you get credit for the unused part of the month, and the annual grant (12x monthly) is prorated over the year ahead.
  • Annual to monthly is scheduled for the end of your annual period.

Trial Teams

During a trial you can switch the plan you are trialing at any time. The trial keeps its 1,500-credit allowance whichever plan you pick; the plan’s full grant starts when the trial converts.

Canceling a Scheduled Downgrade

If you’ve scheduled a downgrade but change your mind:
  1. Go to Settings > Billing.
  2. You’ll see a notice about the pending change.
  3. Click Cancel Downgrade to stay on your current plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Your monthly grant refreshes at the start of each billing period regardless of plan changes. Bonus and purchased credits never expire and are never affected by a plan change.
An upgrade adds the prorated difference for the rest of the current period, the same way Stripe charges you. Your next period starts with the new plan’s full grant.
They stop at the switch, because Starter does not include automations. Articles they already created are preserved.
Yes. Each upgrade prorates against the plan you were on, so two upgrades in one month add up correctly. We recommend staying on a plan for at least one period to judge the fit.
