Autopilot

Automate your content production with daily AI-generated articles.

Overview

Autopilot is Sight AI's automated content generation feature that generates and publishes one high-quality article per day without any manual intervention. Once configured, Autopilot handles keyword selection, article generation, and CMS publishing automatically.

How Autopilot Works

  1. Keyword Selection – Autopilot selects the next keyword from your keyword pool
  2. Article Generation – A full article is generated using your site settings
  3. Quality Review – The article is checked by our quality systems
  4. CMS Publishing – The article is published to your connected CMS

This happens automatically each day at your scheduled time.

Autopilot is available on the following plans:

Configuration Options

Default Article Type

Choose the default article type for Autopilot articles:

  • Explainer – Educational, in-depth content
  • Listicle – List-based, scannable content
  • Step-by-Step – Tutorial and how-to content
  • Mixed – Autopilot selects based on keyword intent

Publishing Schedule

Articles are published at consistent times each day. Sight AI uses smart scheduling to distribute articles throughout the day across all sites, ensuring no two sites publish at exactly the same time.

CMS Publishing Settings

Configure how articles are published:

  • Publish Status – Published immediately or saved as draft
  • Category – Default category for Autopilot articles
  • Author – Default author attribution

Keyword Management

Autopilot requires a healthy keyword pool to select topics from.

Keyword Pool

  • Autopilot maintains a pool of 90 keywords per site (3-month buffer)
  • Keywords are automatically refreshed when the pool drops below 45
  • Fresh keywords are researched using your site's topic and industry

Keyword Sources

Keywords come from:

  • AI-powered keyword research based on your site
  • Keywords you manually add
  • Content opportunity suggestions

Keyword Filters

Autopilot automatically filters out:

  • Brand terms and competitor names
  • Keywords with inappropriate content
  • Keywords already used for articles
  • Keywords outside your difficulty range

Monitoring Autopilot

Dashboard Status

View Autopilot status from your dashboard:

  • Next scheduled article date and keyword

All Autopilot articles appear in your Articles list with an "Autopilot" badge. You can review, edit, or unpublish any Autopilot article just like manually generated content.

To temporarily pause Autopilot:

  1. Go to Site Settings
  2. Toggle Enable Autopilot to off

Troubleshooting

Article Not Generated

If an Autopilot article wasn't generated:

  • Check that Autopilot is enabled in Site Settings
  • Verify you have keywords in your pool
  • Ensure you haven't exceeded your monthly article limit
  • Check for any CMS connection issues

Article Generated But Not Published

If articles generate but don't appear on your site:

  • Verify your CMS integration is connected
  • Check the publish status setting (may be set to "Draft")
  • Review any CMS error messages in the article details

Best Practices

  • Review periodically – Check Autopilot articles weekly for quality
  • Use custom instructions – Set site-level instructions for consistent brand voice
  • Monitor your CMS – Ensure articles are publishing correctly
