Overview

Keywords → Keyword lists (/keywords/lists) groups the keywords you track so you can work on them as a set: filter the Keywords page to one list, move keywords between lists, or brief the agent on one subject at a time. The page has two parts: your lists, and Suggested topics, groups of tracked keywords one article can cover.
Included from Pro. Lists belong to a site. The old Clusters page (/keywords/clusters) now redirects here; its groups are the suggested topics at the bottom of this page.

The lists table

All keywords comes first and is built in: every live keyword the site tracks, marked Built-in, never renamed or deleted. Your own lists follow, largest first, and a No list row appears at the end when some keywords sit outside every list. The header counts your lists and tracked keywords.

Creating, renaming and deleting lists

New list opens the Lists dialog. Type a name and click Create. Each existing list has a count badge, a rename icon and a delete icon; deleting asks you to confirm and keeps the keywords tracked, just without a list. Names are unique per site. A keyword sits in one list at a time; moving it to another list takes it out of the first. The same dialog opens from the Lists button on the Keywords page, from New list… in its Move to list menu, and from Create new list… at the bottom of every list select.

Adding keywords to a list

  • On any keyword table (Organic keywords, Keyword research, Competitor keywords or the Keywords page), open a row’s Actions menu and pick Add to list, or select rows and click Add N to list. A keyword not yet tracked is tracked at the same time.
  • On the Keywords page, select rows and use Move to list in the bulk bar, or set the List field when you paste keywords.
  • In a keyword’s detail panel, change its list with the List select in the header.
  • On the research overview, Add to list files the keyword you are looking at.
  • Under Suggested topics, Save as list turns a topic into a list in one click.

Working on a list

Open takes you to the Keywords page filtered to the list (/keywords?topic=<list>), where every filter, the bulk bar and the keyword detail work on just those keywords. The List menu there switches between lists, and the list name shows as a badge on each row. The research page’s landing shows the same lists under its Keyword lists tab, so you can start a research session from one.
Name lists by page or theme (“Pricing pages”, “Helpdesk automation”) rather than by status. The Keywords page already filters by position, article and AI status, so a list only needs to say what its keywords are about.

Suggested topics

Sight groups your tracked keywords into topics one article can cover. Two keywords land in the same topic when their Google top ten share three or more pages, which means one page can rank for both, or when they mean nearly the same thing (reworded searches, not merely related ones). Each topic is named after its highest-volume keyword. Topics with two or more keywords that are not already a list of their own are shown, 25 at a time with Show all. The grouping is built on your first visit once at least two keywords are tracked, rebuilt after every position check, and can be redone with Refresh. The note beside the button says when it was last updated and how many keywords are not grouped yet.

Frequently asked questions

No. A keyword belongs to one list, plus the built-in All keywords. Adding it to another list moves it.
They stay tracked with all their history and simply have no list. The Keywords page shows them under No list.
Grouping follows the Google results captured by position checks. A keyword that has not been checked yet is grouped by meaning only, and a keyword whose results share fewer than three pages with the others stays on its own.
