Overview

SEO Suite → Index coverage (/seo/indexing) asks Google directly whether each page is in the index, instead of assuming it is because it was submitted. Sight inspects the site’s sitemap and article URLs through the Search Console URL Inspection API every night and keeps Google’s latest answer per URL.
Business only, and the site needs its own Google Search Console property connected. Connect it under Apps & Integrations; the first inspections run the following night. This page is separate from SEO Suite → Indexing, which tracks IndexNow submissions.

The tiles

The URL table

Filter by State, by Section (the first part of the path) or to Canonical mismatch only; search by URL, state or article title. The CSV export carries the full inspection: verdict, indexing state, robots.txt state, page fetch state, mobile usability, rich results verdict, both canonicals and the advice. The table shows the first 3,000 URLs by inspection date.

What to do per state

Google fetched the page and chose not to index it, usually thin, duplicate or low-signal content. Strengthen the content, add internal links from indexed pages, then inspect again.
Google knows the URL but has not crawled it yet, usually crawl budget or weak internal linking. Link to it from indexed pages, keep it in the sitemap and resubmit via IndexNow.
Google treats another URL as the original. Point the canonical tag at the URL you want indexed, or merge the two pages.
These are the site’s own instructions or errors. Remove the noindex or robots block if the page should rank; redirect or restore a 404; add real content to a soft 404 or return a proper 404 and drop it from the sitemap.
Google has never seen it. Make sure it is in the sitemap and linked internally, then submit it via IndexNow.

The nightly run

Every night at 02:30 UTC Sight selects URLs for each Business site with a Search Console property and inspects them one by one.
  • Which URLs. Sitemap URLs and published article URLs, only those inside the connected property (a domain property covers every subdomain; a URL-prefix property only URLs under that prefix).
  • Budget. Google allows 2,000 inspections per property per day. Sight uses up to 200 per site per day for the nightly run and Inspect now together. The line under the page title shows how many are left today.
  • Order. First, URLs seen or changed in the last 14 days that are not indexed yet and were not inspected in the last 24 hours (never inspected first). Then URLs never inspected, newest content first. Then verdicts older than 14 days, oldest first.
  • Stops. The run stops the moment Google answers with a quota or permission error; the rest waits for the next night. The reason shows on the page under Last run stopped early until a clean run clears it.
The Inspected stamp next to the Refresh button shows when the last run finished.

Inspect now

Select up to 20 rows and click Inspect now. Google is asked straight away and the rows update when it answers. These inspections count against the same daily budget as the nightly run. URLs must belong to the site and sit inside the Search Console property; others are reported as failed.

Resubmit via IndexNow

Select up to 50 rows and click Resubmit via IndexNow to send them again through the site’s IndexNow key, even if they were submitted before. This is the usual next step after a Discovered, currently not indexed or unknown to Google verdict, once the page is linked and in the sitemap. The site’s IndexNow setup must be verified.

The not-indexed alert

After each nightly run Sight records a Page not indexed signal for pages reported as not indexed. It lands in the Alerts feed, and the Page not indexed rule under Settings → Site → SEO Alerts can send it by email, Slack or webhook. Like every rule it starts off.

Frequently asked questions

It has not come up in the nightly order within the daily budget. Select it and use Inspect now, or wait: never-inspected URLs are taken newest first.
The connected Google account can no longer see the property, or the token lost its scope. Reconnect Search Console with an account that can see this property.
